Rebecca Singleton grew up on an island where the dress code is a cultural statement — where a Bermuda short isn't a casual choice but a mark of pride, precision, and personality. She left for London to study at Central Saint Martins, worked in marketing, and came home with one clear idea: Bermuda deserved a brand that told its story properly.
In 2013, she started with just four colours of shorts, selling at street markets in Hamilton. No outside investment. No fashion industry background. Just a Bermudian with a sharp eye and a deep belief that the island's most iconic garment had been undersold for decades.
It worked. TABS was selected to design the official Bermuda shorts for the national team's dress uniform at the 2016 Rio Olympics — worn on the world's biggest stage at the Opening Ceremony. The brand went on to be recognised across Vogue, GQ, the Today Show, and named one of Bermuda's most distinctive homegrown success stories, drawing comparisons to icons like Gosling's Black Seal Rum and Lili Bermuda perfumes.
Today, TABS has grown into an award-winning island lifestyle brand with stores in Hamilton, Dockyard, and Grand Cayman — and a growing presence in the US and Caribbean markets. Rebecca has modernised the Bermuda short with shorter hems, versatile fabrics, and cuts that honour the island's tradition while embracing contemporary style — for men and women who care about both.
"My goal is to remind people to take a vacation. Our colours and island-inspired prints invite our customers to seek their own personal paradise," she says.
In 2025, Rebecca launched Isla Botanica — a luxury home fragrance and bodycare brand born in Bermuda, extending her belief that island living deserves to be celebrated in every form.
TABS isn't a souvenir. It's a standard — set by someone who knows exactly what Bermuda is, and exactly what it deserves.
Rebecca started out selling 5 Bermuda shorts colours at an evening craft fair in Bermuda called 'Harbour Nights'. Juggling multiple jobs to finance the business, she got her first major retailer in 2014. The Flagship store in Hamilton opened in the summer of 2016 and expanded to double the size in 2021. Today we boast over 30 colours, numerous awards, and sell our product internationally!
